Restaurant Roundup

The SMPS Boston Chapter is hosting a Restaurant Roundup! Attendees wishing to sign up to accompany chapter members to six popular local restaurants for dinner should visit the SMPS Boston booth to sign up. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis and participants must bring cash to cover their costs. Restaurant choices and menus are below.

Everyone wins in the Networking Pavilion! The Networking Pavilion is the place to be for conference receptions, complimentary meals, and refreshment breaks. SMPS National Awards Gala

Thursday, July 15, 7–9:30 pm
This glittering celebration of excellence honors the best in A/E/C communications and Society leadership in 2009–10. Enjoy an elegant dinner and applaud award-winning business-building ideas produced by leading firms in the industry. Join SMPS leaders, industry media, and your peers to find out who will take home the SMPS Marketing Achievement Award, National Marketing Communications Awards, Chapter President of the Year Award, and Striving for Excellence Awards. The 2010 Class of SMPS Fellows and 2009–10 Class of CPSMs also will honored during the Gala.

Attire is formal. This event is included in the Full Registration, Guest Registration, and Thursday-Only Registration fees. Additional tickets for clients, colleagues, or guests are available for $125/person. Use the registration form to buy tickets for your guests.

Need of a Tux for the Awards Gala?

Classic Tuxedo staff will be available at the Boston Marriott Copley Place on Wednesday, July 14, 2 – 5 pm for tuxedo pickup and fittings. Networking Luncheon and SMPS Business Meeting

Connect with your peers over a business-building lunch! The 2010–11 SMPS National Board of Directors will be introduced during a brief association business meeting at the beginning of the luncheon. Door prizes will include a free conference registration to attend Build Business 2011 in Chicago and gifts provided by our generous conference sponsors. (You must be present to win.)

The dance floor is calling! Join us for your last chance to network with new and old friends while enjoying music and dancing, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $35/person; admission to this event is not included in any conference registration package. Please use the conference registration form to purchase tickets for you and your guests.

Tours of Boston
Saturday, July 17, 8:45 am to Noon

Tour 1: Heart of the Freedom Trail and the North End
This three-hour walk highlights the gems of Boston's historic Freedom Trail. Along the way you will visit the Old State House where the Declaration of Independence was first read in Boston; Faneuil Hall, "The Cradle of Liberty;" Old North Church; the brilliantly restored Quincy Market; the Paul Revere house; and Copp's Hill Burying Ground. This is the trail that led to Boston’s Freedom and the Nation’s liberation!

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased by marking the appropriate box under “Special Events” on the Build Business registration form. Please plan to meet your tour group in the lobby of the Marriott at 8:45 am. Transportation will be provided from the Marriott to the starting point of the tour, as well as from the conclusion of the tour back to the Marriott.

 
Tour 2: Beacon Hill, Boston Common, and Public Garden
This three-hour walking tour takes you to enchanting Boston landmarks. From the golden dome of the State House, to the elegant homes of Louisburg Square, Beacon Hill offers fine examples of the early American architecture of Charles Bulfinch and his followers. During a lovely stroll through Boston’s two great parks for the people, learn about the history of this green and precious heritage: a struggle for beauty and preservation against daunting odds. Experience the sculpture, the ornamental plantings, the ponds, and the birds—-all within the heart of this bustling city.
